Sustainable Acciona Ombú Campus
Project description
Ombú is a transformative building that breathes new life into a historic construction in Madrid. It is an exemplary model of reusability and sustainability in construction, revitalizing the surrounding environment. It is a project that recognizes the significance of wood as a structural element, such as the laminated chestnut beams.
The wood comes from nearby forests under FSC® and PEFC certifications, saving 1,600 tons of CO2. The building is designed to make the most of natural light as well, reducing the need for artificial lighting.
